Both sit in this site's "Expensive" bracket, but for opposite reasons. Orange charges more because you're getting a carrier-grade bundle: unlimited calls, SMS, and hotspot included standard, backed by one of Europe's largest telecom groups. Ubigi charges more because it's an established MVNO (part of NTT Group) selling per-GB and recurring subscription plans rather than the cheapest possible data. Neither is priced to compete with a budget data-only eSIM; the question is which kind of "expensive" you're actually paying for.
The Core Difference: Calls Bundle or Recurring Data Subscription
Orange Travel is the international eSIM arm of Orange, and its plans include unlimited calls and SMS plus hotspot tethering as standard, not a paid add-on. Its discounts are automatic strike-through markdowns built into bigger plan tiers, not a code you type in; we checked its checkout flow directly and found no promo code field at all, so the AW0 code once listed here is now marked invalid.
Ubigi is a brand of Transatel, a French MVNO enabler now part of NTT Group, and it sells data-only plans in two structures: one-off fixed allowances, or recurring subscriptions that renew automatically. Its monthly plan can't be cancelled until you've held it three months minimum; its annual plan is paid upfront and can't be cancelled or refunded at all during that year. Unlike Orange, Ubigi does have a working discount code, ADAMANDLINDS, and it's ours.

Orange's numbers include unlimited calls, SMS, and hotspot; Ubigi's is data-only. Outside its home region of Europe, Orange's per-GB price runs well above Ubigi's even though Ubigi is already one of the pricier data-only options on this site, because you're paying for the calls/SMS bundle on top of the data.

Two Things Worth Knowing Before You Decide

Ubigi's recurring plans lock you in a way Orange's don't. Orange sells fixed-term plans with no auto-renewal to worry about. Ubigi's monthly subscription can't be cancelled for three months, and its annual plan can't be cancelled or refunded at all during its 12-month term, something worth reading before you pick a recurring option over a one-off.
